Balanced Growth Fund
The objective of the Growth Fund is to achieve capital growth
through a highly diversified asset structure. The overall philosophy is to
produce capital growth with reduced volatility through a combination of
different assets in the most cost effective way.
Equities play an important role within the portfolio. A sizable weighting to
overseas stock markets is maintained to help improve returns and reduce the
overall volatility by adding relevant diversification. Other asset classes
such as Alternative Investments and Fixed Interest are included as non equity
correlated assets and serve to further diversify the fund and correspondingly
reduce volatility, the former adding an element of “absolute
return” to the portfolio. Property investments, Structured Products and
Venture Capital/Private Equity Funds, provide further diversification and are
made through the use of specialist managers, on favourable
terms.
Midas manages the UK
element but outsource some of the more specialist areas of the portfolio to
benefit from other managers expertise and knowledge.
The team has previously managed the Merseyside Pension fund, one of the UK’s largest. They all have all of their own investments
and pension fund in the fund. The fund
has provided consistently above average returns and we feel they have the processes
in place for this to continue. The
fund is 5 star rated by Morningstar and the managers are AAA rated by Citywire.
